TERMS OF SERVICE & TELEHEALTH CONSENT

1. TELEHEALTH CONSULTATION AGREEMENT

By booking or attending an online consultation with Spoken Word Psychology, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Telehealth consultations are conducted via secure, encrypted video software.

• You are responsible for ensuring you are in a quiet, private, and safe location for the duration of each session.

• You must not record (audio or video) any portion of a consultation without explicit written consent.

2. FEES, MEDICARE & CANCELLATIONS

• Payment: Fees are payable prior to or at the time of your appointment as specified in our Services & Fees schedule.

• Medicare Rebates: To claim a Medicare rebate under the Better Access initiative, a valid GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral must be provided prior to your session.

• Cancellation Policy: Appointments cancelled with less than 24–48 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or private health insurance.

3. EMERGENCY & CRISIS LIMITATIONS

Spoken Word Psychology is an outpatient telehealth service and DOES NOT provide 24/7 acute crisis management or emergency intervention.

If you are experiencing severe distress, suicidal ideation, or a medical emergency, you must immediately contact:

4. LIMITATIONS OF TELEHEALTH

While online psychological therapy is an evidence-based modality, telehealth may not be suitable for all clinical presentations. If telehealth is deemed clinically unsuited to your needs, we will discuss alternative local in-person referral options.
